Today, 8 February 2023, the EU Cloud-Edge-IoT initiative officially launched its community of collaborative projects, that will shape the future of Cloud-Edge-IoT (CEI), also through a set of focused Task Forces (TFs).
86 participants had a chance to meet virtually (the physical meeting will take place in May 2023), to kick start joint activities and define the next steps.
The Open Source Task Force, part of the European Cloud, Edge & IoT Continuum organized the first face-to-face meeting with the cluster of RIAs that have already started, the HORIZON-CL4-2021-DATA-01-05: Future European Platforms for the Edge: Meta Operating Systems (2021-2017).
On 30 January 2023, the Horizon Europe Info Day, hosted by the European Commission, with the support of EuCloudEdgeIoT and EU-IoT, brought together key stakeholders to present the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023-2024 on “World leading data and computing technologies.” The event offered participants a platform to pitch their ideas to leading research organizations and innovators across the industry.
2023 is starting strong for the Cloud, Edge and IoT community, with lots of events in January and February where you should mark your place.

The European Cloud, Edge & IoT Continuum was preliminarily presented at the IoT week in Dublin in June 2022. Its ultimate goal is to support the definition of the large-scale pilots envisaged by the European Commission in line with the EU Data Strategy.

The first UNLOCK CEI webinar, part of the EUCloudEdgeIoT.eu initiative, provided an occasion to present the project’s objectives and goals and its interaction with the wider policy context and the other initiatives funded under the same topics.
EUCloudEdgeIoT partner BluSpecs participated in the event with its CEO, Tanya Suarez, who, on Day 2, chaired a Track on Transformational IoT, discussing commercial IoT solutions, such as digital twins, space appliances and 6G.
