We’re delighted to announce that the recording of the “Open Unification of Edge Compute” event presented by Arpit Joshipura (General Manager of Networking, IoT & Edge at the Linux Foundation) on June 8 is now available online. If you missed the event or would like to watch the presentation again, please follow this link.
During his presentation, Arpit gave a brief introduction to the Linux Foundation (LF), pointing out that the LF hosts some of the world’s most mission-critical software. He then presented the LF Edge “subfoundation” and his vision of the Edge market.
Arpit then defined certain terms, as well as what should and shouldn’t be considered an Edge application.
He then presented the main LF Edge projects:
- Impact projects: Akraino, EdgeXFoundry and Fledge
- Growth projects: Edge Virtualization Engine (EVE), Open Horizon and the State of the Edge research project.
- Large-scale projects: Alvarium, Baetyl, eKuiper and FIDO Device Onboard.
The presentation was followed by a short Q&A session moderated by Rosaria Rossini from the Eclipse Foundation.
