This new website will be dedicated to providing updates and insights into the progress of the initiative, particularly the CEI large-scale pilots it supports.
CEI Sphere, which began in October 2024, focuses on advancing collaboration and innovation across cloud, edge, and IoT ecosystems in Europe. The pilots, starting in January 2025, aim to address challenges such as energy efficiency, data sovereignty, interoperability, and sustainable business models. Two key pilot projects will be supported, namely O-CEI, targeting energy efficiency and flexibility, and COP-PILOT, which seeks to enable multi-layer orchestration across IoT, edge, and core systems.
Over time, CEI Sphere will deliver results such as an innovation ecosystem strategy, minimum interoperability standards, certification frameworks, and actionable policy recommendations. The new landing page will serve as a dedicated online resource for sharing these outcomes, providing stakeholders with timely updates and a comprehensive overview of the initiative’s progress.
