OSS and Business Model: Zettascale
July 2 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Open Source has gone a long way and arguably it is at the foundations of today’s software infrastructures. Open Source is used by tech giants as a way to establish platforms and by small companies as a way to be noticed for their innovation and talent. But building a viable business with Open Source isn’t always obvious. This presentation will share our experience in building a company around successful projects and share the challenges we face as a small company. The Tragedy of the Commons will be discussed in the context of Open Source to help understand that common goods require common responsibility.
