An interview with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Boris Otto, Fraunhofer
As part of the NexusForum.EU project, Enrique Areizaga, Digital Transformation Manager at Tecnalia Research and Innovation interviewed, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Boris Otto, Fraunhofer to discuss European regulation and policies on the data economy.
Prof. Otto is Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering ISST and Professor of Industrial Information Management at the Technical University of Dortmund.
In this interview Porf. Otto spoke about the European value for the data economy, and he emphasized the importance of the citizens having control and right over their own data. How these regulations are different geographically and how the location of the data determines control, access and policies on data management and usage.
They also spoke extensively about the role of technology, especially on the cloud infrastructure and architecture of the platforms that deal with data storage, management and sharing.
