Building a European Edge-Cloud: From Theory to Action

The NexusForum.EU project is dedicated to consolidating the European Computing Continuum ecosystem by building on the activities and impacts generated by the existing EUCloudEdgeIoT ecosystem. The transition from H2020 to HE underscores the convergence of Cloud, Edge, and IoT technologies, impacting Europe at scientific, technological, socio-economic, and geopolitical levels. The NexusForum2024 Summit aims to provide a forward-looking vision in these areas, addressing challenges and opportunities while fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
Objectives
- Showcase Advancements: The Summit will highlight the latest developments in cognitive computing, cloud, edge, and IoT technologies, demonstrating their potential to drive innovation and competitiveness in Europe.
- Promote Digital Sovereignty: The event will be a place to discuss strategies and initiatives to strengthen European digital sovereignty and emphasize relevance of the new initiatives for the broader EU digital agenda, ensuring technological independence and robust data governance.
- Foster Collaboration: Sessions will facilitate knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships among industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders to address common challenges and explore new opportunities.
- Encourage Inclusivity: Relevant panel sessions will emphasise the importance of diversity, equality, and inclusivity in the tech industry, promoting ethical practices and ensuring that technological advancements benefit all sectors of society.
- Support Innovation: The Summit will provide a platform for Research and Innovation Actions (RIAs) and IPCEI-CIS projects to present their achievements, share insights, and pitch for collaboration and network for opportunities.
- Enhance Policy Understanding: The event will engage with policymakers to discuss the impact of digital policies and regulations, ensuring they support open innovation and the ethical development of Cognitive Computing frameworks.
- Drive Strategic Vision: Offer a forward-looking perspective on emerging trends and future directions in cognitive computing and integrated technologies, guiding the development of a cohesive European computing continuum ecosystem.
