SUMMARY:The next computing paradigm: Where the computing continuum and AI meet the physical world
DESCRIPTION:HiPEAC Vision\, a Blueprint for European Survival \nThe European Union’s ambitious drive for technological sovereignty is entering a critical second phase. With the original Chips Act having successfully mobilised capital (total commitments reached nearly €69 billion)\, the subsequent phase\, Chips Act 2.0\, must fundamentally shift focus from chips supply to securing the next generation of computing architecture and talent. \nThis dimension is explored by the HiPEAC Vision 2025\, a roadmap arguing that Europe’s future relevance depends not merely on manufacturing silicon wafers\, but on mastering the distributed\, sustainable computing paradigm that Artificial Intelligence (AI) now demands. \nThe vision has created the concept of the Next Computing Paradigm (NCP). The NCP represents a crucial convergence of the computing continuum\, spanning high-performance exascale computing\, cloud data centers\, and embedded devices\, redefining how systems interact. HiPEAC views this shift as a dynamic collection of “federated and distributed AI services” that operate across this continuum. \nTo find out more about the HiPEAC Vision 2025\, join the webinar on 12th December. \nClick here to learn more and register.

SUMMARY:Understanding
the CEI ecosystem
via the Hourglass
Model
DESCRIPTION: \nUnderstanding
the CEI ecosystem
via the Hourglass
Model\nDigital ecosystems spanning Cloud\, Edge and IoT are becoming increasingly complex. Energy\, mobility\, manufacturing and smart city systems now rely on a dense mesh of technologies\, platforms\, standards and stakeholders that must work together seamlessly. Yet understanding how these elements connect\, and where organisations truly sit within this landscape\, remains a major challenge. \nThis webinar introduces the Hourglass Model\, developed within CEI-Sphere\, as a practical framework to help stakeholders make sense of complex digital ecosystems. By visualising how capabilities\, platforms and actors align across layers\, the model provides a shared language for collaboration\, innovation and strategic positioning. \nFor more information and registration\, click here.

SUMMARY:Test Event and Conference Residential Flexibility
DESCRIPTION:Test Event and Conference Residential Flexibility\nWe are happy to highlight an interesting upcoming event: the Residential Flexibility Test Event and Conference \, organised by ElaadNL with the support of TNO and FAN. \nThe two-day event will take place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 February 2026 at the ElaadNL Testlab in Arnhem\, the Netherlands. It will bring together technology providers\, system developers\, policymakers\, and researchers working on residential energy flexibility and interoperability. \nElaadNL invites manufacturers and developers to take part in the first Residential Flexibility Test Event\, extending its proven “testival” approach from EVs and charging infrastructure to Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) and Flexible Energy Intensive Devices (FEIDs). \nParticipation offers a unique opportunity to test products and software alongside other vendors in a neutral\, pre-competitive environment. Participants can identify interoperability challenges at an early stage\, explore solutions collaboratively\, and gain insight into how their assets behave in realistic residential flexibility scenarios. By taking part\, organisations actively contribute to building a shared technical foundation for scalable residential flexibility across Europe. \nThe test event is open to producers and manufacturers of in-scope equipment\, including physical or cloud-based HEMS\, as well as EV chargers\, stationary batteries\, solar inverters\, and heat pumps. Participants are required to bring their own hardware to the event. \nWebsite of the event HERE.

SUMMARY:How to Engage in EU Public Consultations - A Practical Guide for First-Time Participants
DESCRIPTION:Register Now \nEuropean digital legislation increasingly shapes the operational\, technical and strategic landscape for cloud\, edge\, AI\, cybersecurity and data-driven innovation. Instruments such as the AI Act\, the Digital Services Act\, and the Cyber Resilience Act demonstrate how regulatory frameworks directly affect architecture design\, certification requirements\, interoperability standards\, and compliance obligations. \nPublic consultations launched by the European Commission represent a critical mechanism through which stakeholders can influence legislative proposals\, delegated acts\, implementation guidelines\, and future funding priorities. Despite their strategic importance\, participation from technical and research communities remains limited\, often due to lack of awareness\, time constraints\, or uncertainty about how to contribute effectively. \nThis webinar aims to address that gap\, and seeks to: \n\nExplain why European Commission public consultations matter for digital technologies.\nClarify why engagement is relevant for the Cloud–Edge–AI ecosystem.\nShow how NexusForum contributes to structured stakeholder input.\nProvide practical guidance on how organisations can participate effectively.\nEncourage active engagement in upcoming consultations.

SUMMARY:NexusForum Talks: Future of telecommunications in the European Cognitive Computing Continuum
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will explore the evolving role of telecommunications in the European Cognitive Computing Continuum\, where networks are becoming not only a connectivity layer but also a distributed and programmable computing platform. The discussion will cover key topics such as Open RAN and multi-vendor architectures\, seamless connectivity across heterogeneous and satellite networks\, AI-driven network automation\, and federated telco edge infrastructures. Particular attention will be given to how these developments can support Europe’s goals in digital sovereignty\, interoperability and industrial digitalisation\, as well as the challenges of integrating networking\, cloud-edge computing and AI into a coherent and scalable ecosystem. Bringing together multiple speakers\, the session led by Anders Lindgren\, from Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) will take a conversational\, rather than a traditional approach\, enabling a shorter but more interactive exchange of perspectives. \nREGISTER NOW HERE

SUMMARY:Data Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:Data Week 2026\n  \nData Week 2026 will be a 2-day physical event taking place in Oslo\, Norway between 5-6 May. The event will be organised by the Big Data Value Association in collaboration with the following BDVA members: IFE (Institute for Energy technology)\, NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology)\, SINTEF\, Western Norway Research Institute and supported by The Research Council of Norway. \nThe theme of DW 2026 is “Data Fjords: Unlocking AI for Industry and Society”\, focusing on the fundamental elements of Data Value creation. Artificial intelligence (AI) serves as a pivotal tool in unlocking data value through various means. Creating value from data also requires viewing it from an ecosystem perspective and fostering collaboration among multiple stakeholders\, which lays the groundwork needed for research excellence\, that is required to be rapidly put into action for competitiveness and societal benefit. \nWebsite of the event HERE.
